We have 3 very important trainings to go to over the next 4 months.
October 19-23 is orientation with Josiah Venture in Wheaton, IL. We will become familiar with other missionaries preparing to go on the field (Thomas and Stephanie Washington), learn some valuable tips and learnings from experienced team members as to how to get ready to go, fundraise and develop relationships further with our team mates.
November 30 - December 18 is round 2 of our training and preparations. We will be going to Missionary Training Institute (www.mti.org) in Colorado Springs with our entire family for a program called SPLICE (the kids program is CHIPS).
SPLICE’s three-week, pre-departure program is designed to help us – and our family – develop the practical skills and attitudes that will successfully take you through the challenging and rewarding process of being interwoven with another culture.
SPLICE focuses on your skill and character development in six vital areas:
Spiritual
Personal
Lifestyle
Interpersonal
Cultural
Endure/Enjoy
Our third round will take us back to MTI, January 4-15 for a program called PILAT.

PILAT’s two-week pre-departure program is designed to help you – and your family – develop the skills, methods, techniques and attitudes necessary to learn another language.
These next few months are going to be extremely busy! We would love your prayers, for travel, for sponge like minds and to be able to raise all the funds necessary to attend these trainings. The cost for all three trainings is $11,000 (w/o airfare), if you’d like to contribute to this specific need please send checks payable to Josiah Venture PO Box 4317 Wheaton, IL 60189-4317 and mark the memo account # 52111 (training).
